History
Hassan group begins its journey in the Turkish industry in 1939 by making quilts. The fate of the company, which manufactures quilts by processing cotton by hand, evolves into a new path with World War II, and when the import of Italian wadding is disrupted due to the war, the path of the wadding merchants crosses with the Şişman brothers. Hasan Şişman, the 1st generation representative of the group, which started to produce wadding entirely by hand under the conditions, takes the first step towards industrialization by purchasing the first carding machine in 1945. By 1965, the number of cards increased to 4 and the production capacity increased to 500 kg per day.
In 1966, a machine with a capacity of 300 kg / hour was purchased from Austria with a loan from the Turkish Industrial and Development Bank, in order to use textile wastes for production with an environmentally friendly approach, and the production of mattress felts for the major mattress manufacturers of the period was started.
In 1969, Tofaş started domestic automobile manufacturing and cooperated with Hassan to produce automobile seat parts in Turkey. With the training and know-how received from Fiat's seat manufacturer in Italy, Turkey's first domestic automobile cushion made of coconut tassel was produced in Eyüp. It starts to be produced in two factories with a staff of 20 people. After Tofaş, the company also made an agreement with Renault and makes significant contributions to the industry as the largest domestic seat manufacturer in the automotive industry.
While the company, which took the name Şiteks in 1977, continues to grow in the mattress market, it builds its new factory in Hadımköy under the name of Hassan Tekstil in 1985 and expands its product range by entering the shoe and artificial leather sectors, as well as synthetic wadding.
While Haspaş, which produces quilting and home textiles, was established in 1988, in 1995 Telasis started producing domestic interlining in a 12,000 m2 closed area in Hadımköy, Istanbul, in order to create an alternative to imported products in the garment industry.
By establishing Catsis in 1995, it re-enters the automotive market, which it had been away from for a while, and begins to produce and form technical textiles for the automotive industry in its modern facilities. In the same year, the foreign trade company Teksis was established and the products produced within the Hassan group began to be exported to the world.
